  Fielding Banjos

The Vermonter banjo is made of locally grown hardwoods: maple, cherry, or walnut with ironwood fingerboards. They have 11" or 12" rims with figured wood peghead overlay and abalone dot inlays.

"Dogwood, osage orange, ironwood, or apple will all make good fingerboards. In many respects they are superior to, and will outwear, either rosewood or ebony." ––from the Guild of American Luthiers
